About Me

 

Welcome to our Bañuelos' library page! My name is Monica Flores and I began my education career twenty four years ago here in Goose Creek after graduating from the University of Houston Clear Lake where I obtained a bachelor's and master's degree. I served as a bilingual teacher my first six years in education and since then as an elementary librarian. I'm excited to be part of our students' reading discoveries as they explore books and new technology.

Mi nombre es Monica Flores y comencé mi carrera educativa hace veinticuatro años aquí en Goose Creek después de graduarme de la Universidad de Houston Clear Lake, donde obtuve una licenciatura y una maestría. Me desempeñé como maestra bilingüe durante mis primeros seis años en educación y desde entonces como bibliotecaria de primaria. Estoy emocionada de ser parte de los descubrimientos de lectura de nuestros estudiantes mientras exploran libros y nuevas tecnologías.

 

 
  • The mission of Dr. Antonio Bañuelos Elementary library is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information and to promote a lifelong love of literature by maintaining a quality collection of age appropriate resources. As well as to provide opportunities for students to achieve their personal best and become productive citizens that embrace learning.

  • It is the goal of Bañuelos Elementary School's Library Media Program to:

     

    Provide an attractive, welcoming environment. Provide a well-organized and comprehensive collection that meets the needs of all stakeholders.

     

    Encourage collaboration between the media specialist/librarian and all stakeholders in all curricular areas.
