Arrival & Dismissal Information
Morning Arrival: Our doors will open at 7:15 a.m. All morning car riders will be dropped off using College St. off Main Street and proceed to the front loop of the school. Bus riders will be dropped off in front of the cafeteria. Beginning the first day of school, August 10, 2022, staff members will be on duty at 7:15 a.m. to direct 2nd -5th grade students to their designated hallways.
No student should arrive at school before 7:15 a.m.
For safety reasons, only Highlands students and staff will be allowed in the halls during school hours (7:45 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.)
Our campus participates in the “Breakfast in the Classroom” program. All students will have the option of eating breakfast in the classroom free of charge. However, to partake in the breakfast, students must be in their homeroom by 7:45 a.m. Breakfast will not be served after 7:45 a.m.
Afternoon Dismissal: The afternoon dismissal bell will ring at 3:15 p.m. All car riders should be picked up from the front loop of the school using the same procedure as morning arrival.
Car Rider Signs: Parents will be issued a car rider sign during Open House night. If you do not have your sign displayed in your car window, you will need to park, come into the office and show your ID to the receptionist before your child can be released. Should you need additional signs, please ask your child’s teacher or the front office.
If you need to make changes to your child’s transportation arrangements, you should send a note to your child’s teacher.
