Career and Technical Education (CTE) is education's front line for college and career readiness. Integrating academic skills into career specific courses, CTE courses provide students with a clear understanding of the post-secondary and employer expectations.
GCCISD provides courses in all 14 Career Clusters established by the Texas Education Agency. Oversight of GCCISD’s CTE programs is provided by two types of advisory committees: a District Steering Committee comprised of local business and industry covering each career cluster and 10 Career Academy Advisory Boards that are specific to each career area. The district's vision for the future of CTE programs of study was completed the spring of 2012 by a Programmatic Visioning Committee. Their work sets the stage for the next ten years!
We welcome your input and support in developing and improving our programs. If you would like to participate in any of our committees or events, please feel free to contact us!
