Career Technical Education

Career and Technical Education (CTE) is education's front line for college and career readiness. Integrating academic skills into career specific courses, CTE courses provide students with a clear understanding of the post-secondary and employer expectations.

GCCISD provides courses in all 14 Career Clusters established by the Texas Education Agency.  Oversight of GCCISD’s CTE programs is provided by two types of advisory committees: a District Steering Committee comprised of local business and industry covering each career cluster and 10 Career Academy Advisory Boards that are specific to each career area. The district's vision for the future of CTE programs of study was completed the spring of 2012 by a Programmatic Visioning Committee. Their work sets the stage for the next ten years!

We welcome your input and support in developing and improving our programs. If you would like to participate in any of our committees or events, please feel free to contact us!

CTE Vision
Goose Creek CISD CTE graduates have acquired the academic knowledge, technical skills, and industry certifications required for post-secondary education and an occupation in their chosen career pathway.

CTE Mission
CTE students will be engaged through rigorous curriculum, inspired through industry partnerships, and empowered through real world experiences to be successful in post-secondary education and the global workforce.

CTE Purpose
The CTE Faculty and Staff will develop more fully the academic and career and technical skills of secondary education students who elect to enroll in CTE programs.

CTE Curriculum
The curriculum for all CTE programs is driven by the Framework for CTE Learning. This framework was developed by the CTE Leadership Team and can be found on the
CTE Curriculum web page
