How Does Educational Technology Play a Role in Your Classroom?

When I started my teaching career, I only had a whiteboard and an overhead projector (and no online gradebook!).  So many things have changed since then! I don’t know how I could teach anymore without my Promethean board and student iPads.  I can always find some form of technology to help teach the concepts of music.

How Do You Find Technology in the Classroom Helpful?

With the help of our educational technology tools and apps, my students are more engaged in class and have learned how to collaborate with each other.  My students are also more creative in their musical compositions and are proud to show them off.

What Is Your Favorite Piece of Classroom Technology? Why?

There are so many that I truly love using but I think my favorites are Quizizz and Blooket for assessments and review, and GarageBand and Chrome Music Lab Song Maker for creating and composing.

What Is On Your Technology Wish List For Your Classroom? Why?

I would love to get a set class set of headphones with a built-in mic  to use with our iPads.  Often students are creating and playing their compositions during class, and it is hard for them to hear what they are creating.  These headphones would also be useful in recording their voices for classroom projects and could be used with several apps such as GarageBand and Chatterpix.

What is one thing you would like to add to your tech wish list?  We might be able to get it for you.

Again, I would love a class set of headphones with mics.  But I would also like to have an additional 5 class iPads.
