About Me

I am thrilled to be a part of the Travis Tiger family as your Counselor! This will be my 10th year as a counselor with over 30 years in education. I previously taught children in grades PK-8th and was also a high school counselor.

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Master of Education in School Counseling, both from Lamar University. I am married with 2 wonderful children. I enjoy spending my free time with my family and reading and being outdoors.

I look forward to working with our Travis Tigers and their families to help our Tigers develop the skills needed in academic, career and social/emotional development, which serve as the foundation for their future success.

Elementary School Counseling Program

The elementary school counselor will use the ASCA National Model which provides a flexible framework to develop a comprehensive program designed to meet students' unique needs. The 4 components of delivery for these services are:

* School counseling core curriculum

* Individual student planning

* Responsive services

* Indirect student services

Character

Developing good character is an on-going process at Travis Elementary. The Character Strong traits that we focus on are: Kindness, Courage, Cooperation, Empathy, Respect, Perseverance, Honesty, Responsibility, Gratitude, and Creativity. Students are reminded of these traits on the morning announcements and with lessons in the classroom. We encourage you to support these same traits at home as a connection between home and school.
