About me

I am honored to be the Professional School Counselor for Travis Elementary!  I grew up in Baytown where I attended elementary school at Travis Elementary, junior high at Baytown Junior School, and then graduated from Robert E. Lee High School.  After becoming a proud product of Goose Creek, I went on and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Houston Clear Lake.  I then furthered my education by receiving a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Lamar University.  I have worked in education for many years, most of which have been here at Travis Elementary.  I am so excited to continue to work with the students, staff, and families here at Travis and to help our Tigers achieve excellence in every way possible!

Elementary School Counseling Program

The elementary school counselor will use the ASCA National Model which provides a flexible framework to develop a comprehensive program designed to meet students' unique needs.  The 4 components of delivery for these services are:

* School counseling core curriculum

* Individual student planning

* Responsive services

* Indirect student services

Developing good character is an on-going process at Travis Elementary. The Keystone Character traits that we focus on each month are: Kindness, Courage, Self-Control, Forgiveness, Respect, Diligence, Loyalty, Honesty and Confidence. Each month the student from each classroom that has displayed the best example of that character trait is honored at a character celebration.
