Our 5th graders learned the importance of being safe on the Internet, all while working to beat the clock and solve the mystery puzzle as a team. Thank you, ExxonMobil BTA, for volunteering your time to engage our students in an important, valuable lesson that’s relevance extends well-beyond the walls of our school building!

Family First ER visited Travis Elementary to give our staff a chance to win some EGGstraordinary electronic prizes! Each staff member chose an egg and it either had candy or a prize ticket in it. Some of the prizes our staff won included a TV, air fryer, LED projector, candle warmer lamp, a sleep mask, and more!
We appreciate all that Family First ER does for our campus and our district. Their generosity and support make us feel very special. Thanks again, Family First ER!

We'd like to thank Mr. Whitfield and the ITC Pasadena Crew 1 for their generous donation to our sensory room! These new items will help our students who benefit from extra sensory time to help reduce anxiety and regulate their sensory responses. It takes a village to support our students and we have the best village around!

Daniela Martinez
Giant Student of the Month
Our Giant Student of the Month for January 2025 is Daniela Martinez, a remarkable fourth grader at Travis Elementary.
Daniela’s achievements are nothing short of inspiring. Just two years ago, she spoke no English, but today, she excels in an English-speaking classroom, performing well beyond grade level. A dedicated member of the Paw Pack and her school’s UIL team, Daniela showcases leadership and academic excellence in all she does. Her hard work earned her a spot in the school spelling bee, and her eagerness to learn is evident as she consistently takes home extra work to further her success.
Beyond academics, Daniela’s kindness and integrity shine brightly. She consistently looks out for others and speaks up for what is right, embodying the core values of Travis Elementary. Recently, she used her tiger stripes to purchase a “Read to a Class” pass but chose to read to a second-grade dual language class in English. Daniela’s goal was to inspire English language learners, showing them that they too can overcome challenges and thrive, just as she has.
Daniela’s journey from not speaking English to exceeding grade-level expectations is a powerful testament to her hard work, determination, and courage. Her compassion and dedication to uplifting others make her a true role model at Travis Elementary. Daniela’s story reminds us all that with perseverance and a kind heart, anything is possible.
Thank you to Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital for sponsoring this award.
