Students in the Academy of Agricultural Sciences focus on the Veterinary Assistant pathway. The Veterinary Assistant pathway prepares students to sit for the Certified Veterinary Assistant Exam, offered through the Texas Veterinary Medical Association. Students will be well prepared to enter the workforce and/or continue their post-secondary education to work towards becoming a Veterinary Technician or Veterinarian.
Special opportunities include assisting in operating the SCTHS Pet Clinic and Spa, job shadowing, and attending conferences by guest speakers, all of which enhance the student’s experience in the program and provide valuable insights into the field of study. Additionally, students can participate in the Stuart FFA Chapter, a Career and Technical Student Organization, dedicated to the advancement of agricultural studies. Students also have the opportunity to graduate with a Business & Industry Endorsement and earn a Performance Acknowledgment by gaining college credits and industry-based certifications.
