How Does Educational Technology Play a Role in Your Classroom?
I have a Promethean ActivBoard in my room with a Promethean ActivSlate. One of the activities students enjoy is reading books projected on the board. They interact with the books using the slate and the pen. I've used classroom sets of laptops for student research projects. Student using technologyAlso, I recently won an Education Foundation grant for iPods that will be used for the writing process with my 3rd and 4th graders.

How Do You Find Technology in the Classroom Helpful?
It's highly motivating for the students. Students who are otherwise reluctant to participate in reading or writing tasks thoroughly enjoy using the Promethean board and laptops.

What Is Your Favorite Piece of Classroom Technology? Why?
The Promethean board and ActivSlate are my favorites because the students get a great kick out of interacting with activities on the board from a distance.

What Is On Your Technology Wish List For Your Classroom? Why?
I would love student desktop computers. We have many times in the day that students rotate through stations. If I had desktop computers, I would be able to pull in many online resources to enhance learning.

Student using technology What Do You Love Most About Teaching?
The kids, of course! Seeing them light up when they are successful makes my job worthwhile.
