How Does Educational Technology Play a Role in Your Classroom?
I love providing opportunities for the students to collaborate with their peers and create a product in which they can use technology to demonstrate mastery of a skill and share with their peers and staff.
How Do You Find Technology in the Classroom Helpful?
It has provided an opportunity for my students to learn that technology can be beneficial in keeping organized, taking notes for class, creating their digital portfolio, accessing resources for all their classes versus using it for entertainment or social media.
What Is Your Favorite Piece of Classroom Technology? Why?
At first I was not a fan of the student iPads, but now we use it almost daily. I've been able to create electronic Tutorial Request Forms (TRFs), student surveys, and engage students in their academic growth via numerous apps for various content areas.
What Is On Your Technology Wish List For Your Classroom? Why?
Desktop computers/laptops and a class printer. A desktop/ laptop is usually easier to work with when doing research, printing this information, study aides, job applications, resumes, etc.
What Do You Love Most About Teaching?
I have the opportunity on a daily basis to work with young adults who are also willing to teach me anything new in technology. It could range on how to play Fortnite to new apps for class, which is always exciting. I can't think of a better career field.
