About Me
I am a product of Goose Creek. I attended Alamo, CBJ and REL. After graduating from Robert E. Lee, I earned my bachelor's degree in elementary education with a specialization in early childhood from Lamar University in Beaumont and a master’s degree in the same field from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. In 2009, I earned another master's degree in mid-management K-12 from Lamar University. I have worked in GCCISD since 1989. I have served as an elementary teacher, Primary Campus Instructional Specialist, an assistant principal, and now principal. I left full time with GCCISD after the birth of our first child in 1999 and worked as a part-time literacy instructor for struggling students at multiple campuses. I also received my daycare/preschool director's license from the state and was the director for Stepping Stones Pre-School here in Baytown for 3 years. After the birth of our second child, I returned to GCCISD full time in 2003. I have been in education for 33 years. 28 of those years with Goose Creek. While Principal we have worked to build a strong culture and climate focusing on relationships between the staff, students, parents and community.
I believe that life is precious and we should never take a day for granted. I come to work each day to do my part to try to enrich the lives of children, staff, and families. I want every student to be successful and to become a lifelong learner. I look forward to the opportunity to lead the Liles Early Learning Academy and help to set the trajectory of success for all that enter through the doors
