About Us
Hello Pelicans! My name is Joanna Williams, and I am the School Nurse here at Pumphrey Elementary. I graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a bachelors in Kinesiology in 2013 then graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2016 with my nursing degree. I worked for 9 years in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Woman's Hospital of Texas before I made the move to school nursing.
I am married and have 2, soon to be 3 kids. (Rio is 3 and Walker is 2, and a newborn due in January), 2 dogs (Jake and Hank). It is an absolute joy and privilege taking care of our students (and occasionally staff) here at Pumphrey. I always try to treat your children as if they were my own, and my goal is to help provide a safe and healthy environment for all our students! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Hello, My name is Tanya Alexander, Nurse Assistant, at Pumphrey Elementary. I’ve worked in the medical field for 18 years. I have two kids that attend Goose Creek. This is my second year at Pumphrey with Nurse Castillo, and it has been an amazing experience.
