About Me
Library
I graduated from Lee High School in 1997. I have been in education for 23 years. I received a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from UHCL in 2001 and in 2007, respectively. I taught 2nd grade for 6 years and have been the Librarian at Austin Elementary for the last 18 years. I love working with our little Alligators and hope that I have inspired them to love reading and become lifelong learners.
I am also the proud parent of two daughters. My eldest completed her Graphic Design degree at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, while my youngest is currently pursuing a degree in Mathematical Biology at the University of Houston's main campus. Traveling is a passion of mine, with Disney World claiming the top spot as my favorite destination – yes, I proudly identify as a Disney Adult! When it comes to reading, I have a soft spot for Young Adult (YA) fiction, with "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" and "The Hatchet" being among my favorite books.
