About Us
San Jacinto Elementary School was first built at 212 Kentucky Street in 1930. The school was named for the Battle of San Jacinto. After the communities of Goose Creek, Pelly, and Baytown consolidated in 1948, the address was changed to 2602 Kentucky.
The school was destroyed by fire in December of 1979 and rebuilt in 1982 at the same location. However, the new building faced Virginia Street, so the address became 2615 Virginia Street.
Our Mission and Goals
At San Jacinto Elementary, we believe that every student will show continuous growth by being provided a highly engaging, rigorous learning environment. We ensure that all students are learning at high levels with a student-centered and data-driven curriculum. Students and staff work cooperatively and collaboratively to meet the learning needs of all students, and we will consistently build positive relations to promote high expectations for academics and behavior.
Our goals are:
-
Increase our attendance rate to 97%
- Increase student achievement including the number of students obtaining meets or masters on STAAR and CBAs in tested by providing rigorous Tier 1 instruction
- Increase the number of students reading on grade level
-
Increase ways for students to become active participants invested in their own learning
