About Me

Hello Bobcats! My name is Yaritza Vargas and I am so excited to be your School Nurse. I have 2 children of my own and strive to treat your children as if they were my very own. My goal is to help provide a safe and healthy school environment for our students and staff.

Nurse's Corner

San Jacinto Elementary would like to encourage you to send your child to school daily. In order for students to perform at their best, they should be well rested, eat balanced meals, and practice safe health habits.

Parent Reminders:

  • If it is possible to give your child’s medication to him/her at home, please do so.
  •  Teachers have been given first aid bags so that they can manage minor issues/injuries in the classroom.
  • Over the counter medications will be discouraged in the clinic this year. If you need to bring an OTC medication to school please contact me to discuss the matter beforehand.
  • Please ensure that your child has a change of clothes in his/her backpack at all times (PRE-K – 5th).
  • Please keep me updated on any changes to your child’s health throughout the year.
  • Please make sure your child is able to eat breakfast each morning (at home or school) and brings a clear water bottle (labeled with name) to school each day.
  • Your child must be fever free (without the use of medications) for 24hours before returning to school. Anything over 99.9 degrees Fahrenheit is considered fever.

Forms:

  • All health service forms (medication permission form, action plans, special dietary accommodations) can be downloaded and printed from home. https://www.gccisd.net/page/HealthServices.Home
  • All medications must be delivered by adult, unopened, in original packaging, with prescription label (if applicable). A Medication Permission Form must be filled out as well. THIS INCLUDES COUGH DROPS.
