About Me

Ms. Sloan, a licensed social worker,  has worked at the secondary schools level since her arrival at Goose Creek CISD. Ms. Sloan who is the Student Wellness Interventionist will be servicing two campuses this school year to support campus interventions across the district. As the SWI, her role includes being a  member of the educational team and  working collaboratively to promote and support students' academic and social/emotional well-being through:
  • Crisis Intervention
  • School-Community Liaison
  • Identification, Development and Coordination of Resources/Services
  • Intervention Strategies
  • Supportive Counseling (individual, group)
  • Responsive services to address behavior, crisis support, and trauma & grief support for students and 
  • Provide workshops and professional development to school staff, parents, and communities on identified needs. 

 

 

 

 

About Me

Ms. Castillo grew up in a small rural town in Ohio. She spent a year in the Marine Corps, where she met her husband of 45 years. After getting married, the family moved to Texas where she spent the next two decades raising her children. Ms. Castillo began taking classes at Lee College when the youngest of her three children started kindergarten. She transferred to University of Houston-Clear Lake, where she received her Bachelors in Behavioral Science with a concentration in Human Services. She worked in adult mental health for two years prior to her work with Communities In Schools. Ms. Castillo has been with CIS Baytown for over 20 years and has worked with both junior high and high school students on five separate campuses within the Goose Creek School District. She is beginning her second year at E. F Green, where she has never felt more at home.
