About Me

Mrs. Tameka Johnson is the Student Wellness Interventionist here at E.F. Green. She is a proud graduate of Jackson State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in Counseling & Development from Prairie View A & M University, with emphasis on Licensed Professional Counseling. Originally from Tallulah, Louisiana, she began her educational career as a Language Arts and Reading Teacher grades 7-8 in Galena Park ISD where she served for 5 years. She later ventured to GCCISD in 2007 where she became a grade level counselor on the Junior High Level for 14 years, and 2 years as a Grade Level Counselor on the High school level. Mrs. Johnson brings a variety of experience from an educational and mental health background. Mrs. Johnson is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Counselor Certified and has over 5 years of experience in mental health in different settings.

She became very elated to join E F Green in the role of Student Wellness Interventionist in 2022. As a Student Wellness Interventionist, she works with students, teaching them to advocate for themselves, helping them to explore their own feelings and concerns and empowering them with tools to help them reach their own decisions, develop coping skills, help them feel supported and safe. Students are provided interventions in individual and group on several topics such as stress, anxiety, assertive communication, listening, exploring/communicating their feelings, conflict resolution, responsible choices and more. Mrs. Johnson enjoys being a part of a community where her passion for student’s learning and success can be watered to see a difference in all the students, parents, staff, and community that she serves. In her spare time, she absolutely loves spending time with her adorable daughter and family and practicing self-care.

About Me

Ms. Castillo grew up in a small rural town in Ohio. She spent a year in the Marine Corps, where she met her husband of 45 years. After getting married, the family moved to Texas where she spent the next two decades raising her children. Ms. Castillo began taking classes at Lee College when the youngest of her three children started kindergarten. She transferred to University of Houston-Clear Lake, where she received her Bachelors in Behavioral Science with a concentration in Human Services. She worked in adult mental health for two years prior to her work with Communities In Schools. Ms. Castillo has been with CIS Baytown for over 20 years and has worked with both junior high and high school students on five separate campuses within the Goose Creek School District. She is beginning her second year at E. F Green, where she has never felt more at home.
