Mireya Mejia is a native of Austin, Texas.  She is a graduate of the University of North Texas and the University of Texas at San Antonio where she was featured in many major operatic roles.  She had the privilege of participating in the Casalmaggiore International Music Festival and the Castelfranco International Music Festival, and also performed Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutte at the Teatro Accademico in Venice, Italy.  Mireya was an artist in residence with the Venetian Macau in Macau, China and was a recitalist in Venice, Italy and Castelfranco, Italy.  Mireya has been a choir director in GCCISD since August 2009, where she served as the head choir director at Gentry Junior School, and the associate choir director at Goose Creek Memorial High School.  Her choirs have consistently received high honors at UIL Concert and Sight-Reading contest, Texas All Region Choir Auditions and UIL Solo and Ensemble.  Mrs. Mejia is thrilled to be the first choir director at E.F. Green Junior School.
