Tara Fountain is a passionate educator with a deep commitment to student achievement and personal growth. As a product of a family of educators, Mrs. Fountain has dedicated her career to inspiring and empowering young minds. She earned her bachelor's degree from Lamar University and her master's degree from the University of Houston, laying a strong foundation for her impactful career. Throughout her tenure, she has significantly influenced students through her work as a History and AVID teacher, always striving to foster a love for learning and critical thinking. Her exceptional contributions have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the GCCISD Education Foundation Student Choice Award and the GJS Teacher of the Year. Tara’s unwavering dedication to education and student success continues to shape a positive and nurturing learning environment.

Mr. Alarcón is serving as the Assistant Principal at Gentry Junior High School, a vibrant and diverse school that proudly serves a wonderful community. With an appreciation for the unique needs and strengths of this community, he is committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment. Fluent in English and Spanish, Mr. Alarcón understands the importance of celebrating diverse cultures, languages, and traditions, and works to create an inclusive atmosphere where all students feel valued and supported. He previously has taught first and sixth grade, as well as served as a counselor for general education and special education students at the high school level.

 

El Sr. Alarcón se desempeña como subdirector de Gentry Junior High School, una escuela vibrante y diversa que se enorgullece de servir a una comunidad maravillosa. Con un reconocimiento por las necesidades y fortalezas únicas de esta comunidad, está comprometido a fomentar un entorno de aprendizaje inclusivo. El Sr. Alarcón, que habla inglés y español con fluidez, comprende la importancia de celebrar diversas culturas, idiomas y tradiciones, y trabaja para crear una atmósfera inclusiva donde todos los estudiantes se sientan valorados y apoyados. Anteriormente, enseñó primero y sexto grado, y se desempeñó como consejero para estudiantes de educación general y educación especial en el nivel de escuela secundaria.
