G. W. Carver Elementary has been an integral part of this community for many years and as such we have celebrated growth, overcome trials, and rejoiced in the victories together with the families we serve. I have had the privilege to be part of the Carver family for the past 14 years and for that reason I am thrilled to have the opportunity to now serve as Assistant Principal.
I am a proud product of Goose Creek as I moved to Baytown when I was in the third grade. I attended Pumphrey Elementary, Ashbel Smith Elementary, Horace Mann Junior High, and Robert E. Lee High School. In fact, it was in Ms. Folk’s 5th grade class at Ashbel Smith, that my dream of becoming an educator was born. I absolutely love being a part of this district and plan to remain here for as long as I possibly can.
In the spring of 2006, I graduated from the University of Houston Clear Lake with a Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies and began my career in Goose Creek CISD. In 2009, I joined the Carver family as 5th grade teacher. During my time here I have also served as a 4th grade teacher, a Science Facilitator, and a Math and Science Teaching and Learning Coach. In 2018, I graduated from Lamar University with a Master’s in Educational Administration.
To say that Carver holds a special place in my heart is an understatement. Carver is my heart and my home. I am so proud to be part of our students’ lives and education. I assure you all, that I am committed to working harder than ever to ensure that all students receive the quality instruction they deserve. I also commit to working toward bringing our educators and families together for the purpose of helping our Carver Stars achieve their dreams. I am living proof --“if you can dream it, you can do it!”
