Mrs. Fierro is a 30 year educator who has most recently returned to Goose Creek after spending 3 years as a high school principal in a neighboring district. Previously, Ms. Fierro served as an assistant principal and academic dean at Sterling High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Education from Lamar University in 1996. Upon graduation, she taught junior high and later high school English. Mrs. Fierro earned her master’s degree in Counseling and Development from Lamar in 2006, and later returned to Lamar to earn her certification in Administration. During those years, she served as a counselor and assistant principal. Mrs. Fierro has recently completed her superintendent certification program through the Region 6 service center.
She believes her education experiences have afforded opportunities to collaborate with a diverse group of educators and communities to meet the common goal of increasing student achievement and preparing students for life beyond high school. Mrs. Fierro’s educational philosophy is based on her belief that all students deserve the opportunity to achieve their highest potential in a positive learning environment, with strong and knowledgeable educators, and an encouraging and involved community.
