Communities in Schools

Student Wellness Interventionist

Ms. Hodge
Ms Scott

I have been with Communities In Schools (CIS) for 3 years, and I truly enjoy getting to know and support students and families in any way possible – from providing guidance or resources to attending extracurricular events. I’m a firm believer that empowering students to reach their full potential is crucial to their success, and the continuation of growth is the most important thing in life. While I grew up and graduated from Goose Creek CISD, I’m so excited to be a Highlands Eagle and can’t wait to see what the year brings!

Services:

  • Providing community resources to families
  • Holiday Assistance (Thanksgiving and Christmas)
  • Supportive guidance and groups to promote academic, behavior, and attendance
  • Backpack Buddy Program

Hello, I am Crystal English, and I'm thrilled to be your new Student Wellness Interventionist.  I have been with the CSWN for 3 years. My passion for counseling stems from a deep commitment to helping individuals navigate their challenges and discover their strengths. I believe everyone has the potential to grow and thrive, and I aim to create a safe and supportive environment where students feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings.

Services:

Student Wellness Interventionists provide unique casework services to help students resolve personal, emotional, and social problems that interfere with their adjustment to school and their ability to enjoy the benefits of the educational process. As a part of the educational team, Student Wellness Interventionists assist and enhance student achievement in the classroom by developing strategies and interventions to improve academic, social, and behavioral performance. Additionally, the collaboration with families and the community remove barriers that impede student performance and assists students in reaching their fullest academic potential to increase participation in all educational program.

I'm excited to be a part of this community and to work collaboratively with each of you. I will service Highlands Junior on Wednesday's and Thursdays with some Friday rotations. Please feel free to reach out anytime.
