About Me ...

 

I am a product of Goose Creek CISD. I graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and a Master’s in Business Administration from DeVry University. I have taught 1st, 2nd and 4th grade before I became a dyslexia interventionist. I recently obtained a Master’s in Education Leadership from University of Houston-Clear Lake. As I continue to learn and grow to become an instructional leader, my goal is to impact student learning, grow teachers and contribute to the community I serve.

I am a dedicated and accomplished educator with over 15 years of experience in instructional leadership, teacher development, and curriculum innovation. With a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Texas Southern University and extensive hands-on expertise as a District Literacy Coach, Teacher Development Specialist, and SPED Instructional Facilitator, I have consistently driven academic excellence and teacher empowerment. My career reflects a strong commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments, guiding over 400 educators through targeted professional development initiatives, and implementing impactful district-wide systems and routines. My ability to analyze data, develop strategic improvement plans, and implement evidence-based practices positions me as a transformative leader in education.
My value to students lies in my unwavering dedication to equity and academic success. By leveraging my expertise in emergent bilingual instruction, special education, and curriculum alignment, I ensure that diverse student populations receive tailored support to meet their unique needs. My collaborative approach to professional development and mentorship cultivates a community of educators who are prepared to inspire and challenge their students. Tamara Fernandez

Tamara Fernandez is a passionate educator with over a decade of experience in primary and secondary education. Currently serving as a Math and Science Campus Teaching and Learning Coach, she collaborates with educators to improve instructional strategies and foster student success.

Tamara holds a Master of Science in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Miami and a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Florida International University. She is dedicated to creating inclusive, engaging learning environments and supporting educators in achieving excellence.
