Nurse's Corner

Hello, Ashbel Smith families! My name is LaKisha Olivier, and I'm delighted to be your school nurse here at Ashbel Smith Elementary.  With a background in pediatric nursing and a passion for helping children thrive, I'm here to support the health and well-being of our students.

Whether it's managing chronic conditions, tending to bumps and bruises, or simply offering a comforting word, my goal is to ensure that every child feels safe and supported while at school.  I work closely with parents, teachers, and school staff to create a healthy, caring environment where students can focus on learning and growing.

If you have any questions or concerns about your child's health, or if you need assistance with health-related school forms, please don't hesitate to reach out. My door is always open, and I'm here to help in any way I can.

Looking forward to a great school year together!

Keep Your Child Home When They Have:
  • Temperature of 100 degrees or above within the past 24 hours
  • Diarrhea and/or vomiting more than once within the past 24 hours
  • Red, itchy eye with drainage
  • Ringworm of the scalp
  • Intense itching with open lesions or signs of secondary infection
  • Undetermined rash

Furthermore, any student who has had a temperature of 100 degrees or above should remain at home until they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without the aid of a fever reducing medication such as Tylenol or Motrin.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact.
