WORKING TO KEEP OUR SCHOOL SAFE

Campus Crime Stoppers is a unique program designed to get students involved in establishing and maintaining 100% safety in our schools. It is a joint effort among Goose Creek ISD, Baytown Crime Stoppers, local law enforcement, and the community to keep the threat of violence, illegal drugs, weapons, and other dangerous activities off school campuses.

Horace Mann Junior Campus Crime Stoppers program is organized with sponsors (staff members and/or teachers), a student board of directors, and a police coordinator. Students from any grade level are welcome to join the student board.

Student board members attend monthly meetings to discuss cases and positive tips brought forth by the police coordinator and designate monetary rewards for information. Students who serve as board members are responsible for helping to raise funds for rewards, publicizing the program and in so doing, learn leadership skills and pride in making their campus a safer, more desirable place.

WHAT CAN I REPORT TO CRIME STOPPERS?

  • information on the theft of items from the school, teacher, or student
  • information that may prevent a fight on campus
  • information about vandalism
  • students having drugs or alcohol on campus
  • students under the influence of drugs or alcohol on campus
  • students having a weapon on campus
  • anything that makes you feel unsafe
  • students being bullied
  • students expressing suicidal thoughts

The program allows students and/or school personnel to provide anonymous tips to the administration and local law enforcement about crimes or violations of school rules. The tipster will receive a monetary reward for information which leads to an arrest or disciplinary action. Cash rewards paid are up to $50 in junior high schools. If the crime is classified as a felony, the tipster could be eligible for up to a $5,000 cash reward!

Remember, anyone can report.
