Mission

 

The mission of Lorenzo De Zavala Elementary is to provide a safe, positive learning environment where all students develop intellectually, physically, creatively, and socially, in order to become responsible citizens and meet the challenges of the future.

  • Special Programs:

     

    De Zavala Elementary currently has an enrollment of 781 students.

     

    Our ethnic breakdown is approximately 24% White, 19% African-American, 55% Hispanic and 2% Other.

     

    We offer Pre-K for students whose families qualify.

     

    Our bilingual program includes all grade levels and our gifted and talented program provides our students with the opportunity for enrichment through increased rigor in the classroom.

  • De Zavala is in partnership with Rotary Club of Baytown - Partner In Education who provides continuous support along with our Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) who provides valuable resources for our students, families, teachers, and the community.

     

    We continuously recognize great things our students are doing throughout the year to help inspire them and challenge them to be the best students they can be.

    Mascot

    De Zavala’s mascot is Diamond the Dolphin and our school colors are blue and white.
