About Mrs. West...
Mrs. West, books, rug, chair

I am thrilled to return to my alma mater, where I am excited to work alongside an amazing staff and inspire our incredible high school students for their next step. With a passion for research, literature, and technology, call on me for all of your high school academic/leisure time needs. I am here to help, to teach, to model, and to make a difference. As a high school student, my dream was to return and contribute to the school community—whether as a teacher or, even better, running the library—and now that dream has become a reality.

I hold a BA in English and History from Stephen F. Austin State University, a M. Ed. in Library Science and Educational Supervision from University of Houston-Clear Lake, and a M.Ed. in Educational Technology Leadership from Lamar University. My career includes serving as a librarian at Lee, San Jacinto, and Baytown Junior, as well as teaching all levels at Goose Creek C. I. S. D. At Sterling, I co-sponsor National Honor Society, with Mrs. K. Smith and coach UIL Lit Crit.

On a personal note, I married my high school sweetheart, and together we have two wonderful daughters—the oldest, a graduate of Sterling High School the youngest, a graduate of Barbers Hill; both earning MBA degrees in Finance/Accounting from Texas A. & M. University. Looking forward with anticipation to help in any/every way. ~Mrs. West
