About Ross S. Sterling High School
NURTURED BY COMMUNITY. INSPIRED BY OPPORTUNITY.
Ross S. Sterling High School was built in 1966 to accommodate the growing population of the Baytown area. Sterling includes over 400,000 square feet and is located on 86.32 acres.
Students have hundreds of curriculum courses to choose from to prepare themselves for college or for a career. Courses are offered at both regular and advanced levels. Pre-Advanced Placement, Advanced Placement, Dual Credit, and On Ramps courses offer the students advanced academics to provide students with more concentrated study in a particular field.
Sterling High School also houses two career academies in the East Annex: the Health Science Academy and the Career Academy for Future Educators (CAFE). Goose Creek CISD’s premier Health Science Academy commenced with the Class of 2018 and has also been recognized as a National Career Academy Model in the academic area of Health Science. The CAFE Academy is a new addition to our campus and will provide even more career opportunities for our students beginning in August 2020.
