CATCH Healthy Eating!
We are a CATCH school. CATCH stands for Coordinated Approach to Child Health. CATCH is a researched based model and most recently the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child model, in which ten components work interactively to promote long-term development and success of all children. The ten components are health education, physical education, and physical activity, nutrition environment and services, health services, counseling, psychological and social services, social and emotional climate, physical environment, employee wellness, and family engagement and community involvement. The whole goal of the CATCH program is healthy kids in a healthy school! Here at Crockett, we want to teach children to make healthy choices and create a school environment that encourages healthy eating and physical activity.
