Nurse's Corner

 

Students should be kept at home for the following reasons:

  • Temperature of 100 degrees or above within the past 24 hours
  • Diarrhea and/ or vomiting more than once within the past 24 hours
  • Pain or swelling at angle of jaw
  • Red eye with drainage
  • Ringworm on the scalp
  • Intense itching with open lesion or signs of secondary infection
  • Undetermined rash

Also, any student who has a temperature of 100 degrees or above should remain at home for at least 24 hours free of fever without the benefit of Tylenol or Motrin before returning to school, unless a physician’s statement indicating otherwise is presented.
