Nurse's Corner
Students should be kept at home for the following reasons:
- Temperature of 100 degrees or above within the past 24 hours
- Diarrhea and/ or vomiting more than once within the past 24 hours
- Pain or swelling at angle of jaw
- Red eye with drainage
- Ringworm on the scalp
- Intense itching with open lesion or signs of secondary infection
- Undetermined rash
Also, any student who has a temperature of 100 degrees or above should remain at home for at least 24 hours free of fever without the benefit of Tylenol or Motrin before returning to school, unless a physician’s statement indicating otherwise is presented.
