SENIOR NEWS:
FAFSA Night: Attention, 2018 graduates! On Wednesday, Oct. 18, GCM is hosting a FAFSA Night to assist students and parents with filling out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid. All seniors and their parents are invited to attend. Parents and students will need a copy of their 2016 tax return and ensure they know their social security numbers. The deadline to sign up for this event is Tuesday, Oct. 10. Sign-up sheets are located in the Senior Office.
Seniors: The prom theme poll will close on October 13. Please vote in your senior English classes! Senior English teachers have the link for voting.
Scholarship Writing Night: Attention, Seniors! GCM will host a Scholarship Writing Night on Thursday, Oct. 19, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Library. Students who have questions or need help filling out applications and/or writing essays must sign up in the Senior Office to attend. Students need to log in to their Naviance account to view scholarship opportunities. The deadline to sign-up for this event is Friday, Oct. 13.
#PatriotStrong Spirit Buttons: Spirit Club is selling spirit buttons for $2 each! Contact a Spirit Club member or Mrs. Davis in E139 to get yours. Supplies are limited so get them while you can!
Blarglefish: The Blarglefish robotics team is accepting applications to join. We have a place for YOU! See the QR code on the posters around campus. You must log in to Google with your Goose Creek student credentials to get the digital application. Our first round of applications are due by Oct. 9th. Go Blarglefish!
Crime Stoppers: Meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 4. Board members, you must be present to sign up for Jail-a-thon.
Cuba Summer 2018: Mr. Vasquez will host a meeting for all students who want to go to Cuba during the summer of 2018. Please bring your parents on Tuesday, October 3, for an informational meeting at 6:00 p.m. in E124.
Fashion Club: Meeting Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 2:50 p.m. in Ms. Newman's room SW115. Please bring your dues and come meet our newly elected officers!
FFA: Our second meeting is Monday, Oct. 2, at 7:00 p.m. in room W119. Don't forget: you must turn in your dues by Oct. 2, and you must attend 50% of the meetings to attend conferences, contests, and livestock shows.
Gay-Straight Alliance: The next meeting is Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 2:55 p.m. We will elect officers at this meeting, so it is very important that as many people as possible attend. Remember...GSA is for everyone. Come be a part of unifying the GCM community.
Girls' Basketball: Attention, Girls! Basketball try-outs are here! The Lady Patriot Basketball Team will be holding tryouts on October 18-20. In order to make the team you MUST ATTEND ALL THREE DAYS. You will need to have a physical on file with the trainers in order to try-out. So if you are thinking about dusting off your sneakers to be a part of an amazing program, stop by SW100 and speak to Coach Moore.
Good Sportsmanship League: If you ordered a shirt, they are in! Come by Mrs. Davis' room E139 to pick your up.
Hawaii Summer 2018: Anyone interested in taking a trip to Hawaii in June 2018, bring your parents to an informational meeting on October 5th in room E135 at 5:00 p.m. If you have any questions, see Ms. Flores in room E135.
Social Studies UIL: We will have a meeting on Thursday, Oct. 5, in room W203. Please bring your books and notes!
