    About Mrs. Start

     

    Mrs. Start attended The University of Texas at Austin and received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.  She spent two years working at a law firm in client relations before moving into the education field.  Now with 20 years in education, she has taught career and technical education courses, Peer Assistance and Leadership, served as the dance/drill team director and most recently served as the CTE Specialist over the Global Business Academy and Business curriculum.  She received her Master’s in Educational Leadership from Lamar University.  Mrs. Start believes all students should be provided college and career readiness opportunities.  She is proud to work at Goose Creek Memorial where students, teachers and administrators are pushed to be their very best in an innovative, positive and professional community.

    About Mr. Kimbel

     

    Mr. Kimbel has earned two Master's degrees. The first is a Master's of Fine Arts from the State University of New York at Brockport's Visual Studies Workshop. The second Master's is in Education from Roberts Wesleyan College. He received his Principal Certification through Sam Houston State University. Mr. Kimbel has a total of 16 years in education, the last five here at GCM. "This school and the staff have been nothing short of amazing and I am proud to be part of the team at GCM!"

    About Mr. Cesari

     

    Mr. Cesari attended Texas A & M University and received a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies.  With more than 15 years in education, he has taught math, special and behavioral education, and coached both junior high and high school sports.  He received his Master’s in Educational Leadership from Lamar University and is excited to be a member of the Goose Creek Memorial staff.  Drawing from his experience as a teacher, coach, and an administrator, Mr. Cesari strives to create positive relationships between students and staff alike to build a strong foundation for learning.

    About Ms. Prentice

     

    Shonna Prentice has taught for eight years, all of which has been in Goose Creek CISD, in her hometown of Baytown, Texas, at Goose Creek Memorial High School. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Houston-Downtown, earned a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston Clear Lake, and received her Principal as an Instructional Leader Certification from Lamar University. Over the last eight years,  Ms. Prentice has fostered a love of teaching and helping to mentor new teachers at GCM. Shonna Prentice was named the 2017-2018 Goose Creek Memorial High School Teacher of the Year. She is proud to be a member of a school that focuses on the whole child, not only through academics, but also socially and emotionally.
