    About Mrs. Woodard

     

    Amy Woodard grew up in Baytown and graduated from Ross S. Sterling. She went to Lamar University and obtained her degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Mrs. Woodard began her teaching career at Horace Mann Jr in 1998. After completing her master's degree in Educational Administration, she moved into the role of ELA Campus Instructional Specialist at Horace Mann in 2013. This year, Mrs. Woodard will start her 25th year in education at Goose Creek Memorial High School as the campus Special Programs and Testing Coordinator.

    About Mrs. Tarver

     

    Karli Tarver began her career in education as a substitute teacher while working her way through college in Beaumont, Texas. Once she earned her degree and teaching certificate, she was launched into the classroom and taught in Beaumont, Texas, for three years. She and her family moved to Baytown, Texas where she taught at Baytown Junior High School. After 6 years of teaching, she became a Student Support Administrator at Gentry Junior High School for two years. She then served as Assistant Principal at Robert E. Lee High School and is now proud to serve as Assistant Principal at Goose Creek Memorial. This is Mrs. Tarver’s 14th year in education. She is enthusiastic about serving the students, parents, and educational stakeholders of Goose Creek Memorial.

    About Mr. Purifoy

     

    James Purifoy, a native of Baytown, has 29 years of experience in education.  He graduated from Ross S. Sterling High School, attended Lee College and then transferred to Texas A&M University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree. After returning home, he completed his Master’s in Education Administration while he taught math and science at Sterling High School and Horace Mann Jr High before serving as an Assistant Principal for the Peter E. Hyland Alternative Learning Program, Lee High School, and now, Goose Creek Memorial High School.  He’s proud to be a Patriot and excited to guide and support the Class of 2027!

    About Mr. Yepez

     

    David A. Yepez, an educator for 26 years, currently serves as the Senior Assistant Principal of GCM. He has previously served as an Assistant Principal at both the Elementary and Middle School levels. Mr. Yepez received his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Houston-Downtown and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.  He is a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and lives by the quote, “Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, Today is a gift”.
