About Ms. Johnson
I am an optimistic person and believe in the best in people. My ambition as a school counselor is to help each student work to their potential and to assist parents and teachers in achieving this goal.
My concern is for the well-being of my students and to help them understand that they are valuable, vital, and unique individuals. I believe in empowering my students to use his/her strengths to his/her best benefit by focusing on their accomplishments, building on their past successes, and encouraging them to achieve higher goals which, thereby, promoting their positive self-concept and self-confidence.
Before becoming a School Counselor, I taught Reading and Writing for 5 years in the classroom (Grades 7th & 8th) in Galena Park ISD. I also was a Junior School Counselor for 13 years here in Goose Creek CISD at Baytown Junior High and Highlands Junior High School. My degrees and certifications include: BA in English (Jackson State University), and MS in School Counseling (Prairie View A & M University). I additionally am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC).
