SENIOR NEWS:
FAFSA Night: Attention, 2018 graduates! On Wednesday, Oct. 18, GCM is hosting a FAFSA Night to assist students and parents with filling out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid. All seniors and their parents are invited to attend. Parents and students will need a copy of their 2016 tax return and ensure they know their social security numbers. The deadline to sign up for this event is Tuesday, Oct. 10. Sign-up sheets are located in the Senior Office.
Seniors: The prom theme poll will close on October 13. Please vote in your senior English classes! Senior English teachers have the link for voting.
Scholarship Writing Night: Attention, Seniors! GCM will host a Scholarship Writing Night on Thursday, Oct. 19, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Library. Students who have questions or need help filling out applications and/or writing essays must sign up in the Senior Office to attend. Students need to log in to their Naviance account to view scholarship opportunities. The deadline to sign-up for this event is Friday, Oct. 13.
#PatriotStrong: Hey, Patriots! We are playing the NERDS Thursday night! We have a pep rally Thursday, Oct. 12. The theme is "The Rangers are NERDS!" Everyone dress as a Ranger NERD on Thursday!
#PatriotStrong Spirit Buttons: Spirit Club is selling spirit buttons for $2 each! Contact a Spirit Club member or Mrs. Davis in E139 to get yours. Supplies are limited so get them while you can!
Blarglefish: The Blarglefish robotics team is accepting applications to join. We have a place for YOU! See the QR code on the posters around campus. You must log in to Google with your Goose Creek student credentials to get the digital application. Our first round of applications are due by Oct. 9th. Go Blarglefish!
Dual Credit 2018-2019:
- Any 9th, 10th, or 11th grade student interested in taking dual credit next school year must fill out the Dual Credit Interest Form by Friday, Oct. 20.
- Look for the QR code around the building. Scan it to go to the form.
- Beginning Oct. 23 - students will be called to the library to complete an Apply Texas account and a Lee College Dual Credit application.
- There are several steps that must be completed in order to enroll in dual credit. These steps must be completed by Friday, Oct. 27. Students can do this on their own, any time after they fill our the interest form.
- If you do not fill out the form, you may miss out on the opportunity to take dual credit next year.
- If you have questions, stop by the College and Career Center.
FFA: The annual Meat Sale Fundraiser is on now! Please find a FFA member or an Ag teacher to order your meat products. Thank you for your support!
Gay/Straight Alliance: Next meeting is Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 2:55 p.m. in SW205. We will be discussing new topics and deciding on this year's t-shirt design. Unity, Acceptance, Equality...this organization is open to anyone and everyone! Come be part of GSA!
Girls' Basketball: Attention, Girls! Basketball try-outs are here! The Lady Patriot Basketball Team will be holding tryouts on October 18-20. In order to make the team you MUST ATTEND ALL THREE DAYS. You will need to have a physical on file with the trainers in order to try-out. So if you are thinking about dusting off your sneakers to be a part of an amazing program, stop by SW100 and speak to Coach Moore.
Good Sportsmanship League: If you ordered a shirt, they are in! Come by Mrs. Davis' room E139 to pick your up.
