It's LUAU time, Patriots! Get your Hawaiian shirts and beach hats ready to "Beach the Spartans!" on Friday, October 11. There is no pep rally on Friday, BUT we need to show our Patriot spirit!
The Volleyball team will travel to Baytown Lee to take on the Ganders Tuesday night! Freshmen start at 4:30, with JV following at 5:30 and Varsity at 6:30. Let's show those Ganders what a student section really looks like. Let's get loud!
Student Council: There will be a StuCo meeting on Monday, October 7, in room SW100 at 8:00 a.m. and 3:50 p,m. You only need to attend one of the meetings.
ASVAB: The College & Career Center is offering the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test on October 17, 2019, during the school day. Find the QR code posted on Main Street or stop into the College & Career Center to sign up. This test is free.
Homecoming Proposal: Make Homecoming memorable with a homecoming proposal. The National Art Honor Society is making homecoming proposals this year. A big poster is $10, a large banner is $15, and any add-ons like glitter and rhinestones is $1 extra. Stop by any of the art rooms or any of the offices to pick up a form today. Forms are due to any art teacher by October 9th.
Homecoming Dance: The GCM Homecoming Dance is Saturday, October 19, from 7:00-11:00 p.m. The theme is "Patriot Wonderland". Tickets go on sale October 14-18 at the school store during all lunches. Tickets are $20 each during lunch; they will be $25 at the door. ***Be sure to bring a PHOTO ID with you. All students and their guests are required to check in with a PHOTO ID before entering the dance. NO PHOTO ID, NO ENTRANCE! Once you leave the dance, you will not be allowed to re-enter.
Homecoming Dates: If you are bringing a date that is NOT a GCM student, make sure you fill out the GCM Guest form and turn it into your Alpha AP's Office by Thursday, October 17, no later than 3:45 p.m. Do NOT wait until the last minute! The forms are in ALL offices, on the StuCo bulletin board, and on the front page of the GCM website (www.gccisd.net/gcm). If you do not have this form approved and on file with a proper photo ID, your guest will not be allowed into the dance.

Spanish Club: Let's taco 'bout culture, fun, games, and food. Come join the GCM Spanish Club! We will be exploring the world of the unknown Latin/Hispanic culture. Our first meeting will be held in Mrs. Chen's room E238 on October 16, 2019, at 7:50 a.m. Come and let's fiesta like there's no mañana! See you there!
Girls' Basketball: Tryouts will be held on October 23-25 in the Auxiliary Gym from 4:00-5:30 p.m. Students interested in trying out must have a physical and online paperwork on file. For information, see Coach Razo or Coach Curry.
